Meet The Officers

Dr. Susan Sawyer
Pastor and Servant Leader, Dr, Sawyer has been servant leader at GWC for 2 years. She was appointed by Bishop Williamson at the East TN Region Annual Conference in Jackson, TN.
James Taylor, Jr.
Chairman of the Steward Board, James has been a member of GWC his entire life. He also serves as trustee chairman, choir member, and custodian.
Joshua Hager
Director of Music, Josh has been a member of GWC for 23 years, his entire life. He holds a BS degree from Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN and serves on the Steward Board.
Carolyn Sherrod
Carolyn has been a member of GWC her entire life. Upon the ailment of her mother, the long time church treasurer, she took on that role. Carolyn also serves as president of the Stewardess Board and church secretary.
Herbert Herring
Herbert as held membership at GWC his entire life. He is a member of the finance committee, and serves as the Recording Steward and Trustee Board member.
Virginia Boyd
Virginia, known by her church family as "Jean", serves as the Superintendent of Sunday School, along with teaching the adult Sunday School class. Jean also serves the finance committee as a steward and trustee.
Deborah Hyde
Deborah is a life-long member of GWC. She serves as the church's Director of Christian Education, which supervises all learning at the church. This includes Sunday Children's Church and Vacation Bible School.
Patricia Stanton
Patricia came to GWC in the early 2000's to serve as pianist. She has served the congregation since then with working with the music ministry. Currently she serves as song leader and choir director.
Diamond Payne
Diamond has been a member at GWC for her entire life. She has served in many capacities, namely children work. She teaches the children Sunday School and is Worship Leader.
